Tamarind

1 High St, Teversham, Cambridge CB1 9AS, UK – 01223 295745

Good ambience. Reasonably priced. Tasty food. Service could be better. The staff kept talking loudly and in their own language which was rude. They could speak English but chose not to.

Best curry restaurant and takeaway in Cambridge. No delivery when ordering takeaway but well worth the journey to pick it up.chicken Jalfrezi outstanding as is their korma if you don't like spice. Onion bhaji are the biggest and crispest I have ever had. Cauliflower bhaji is cooked in a sauce, well flavoured but not spicy so suitable for all the family. Meat samosas amazing too. Staff super friendly and remember your name. Sunday buffet amazing and well priced Highly recommended.

The White Hart Country Inn

1 Balsham Rd, Fulbourn, Cambridge CB21 5BZ, UK – 01223 880264

Very nice ambience with wood styling that manages to be spacy, comfortable and intimate all at the same time. The staff were grand: both professional and friendly, with a pleasant informality that puts guests right at their ease. They were pleased to meet my dog and brought a bowl of water for her without my even asking, which is an instant extra star in my book. My only regret was that my food (the "pie of the day") was distinctly below the standard of everything else -- most of the meal seemed tasteless, mass-produced and/or slightly odd. That seemed to be an exception: my three companions all seemed to have perfectly fine meals. So I'll give the place another chance next time I'm passing by.

Only a quick visit this time, tasty food and excellent service. Thank you.

The Sea Tree

13-14, The Broadway, Mill Rd, Cambridge CB1 3AH, UK – 01223 414349

Probably the best fish and chips I’ve had in Cambridge. This place serves up delicious crispy battered fish and moreish chunky chips with a nod to sustainability and local sourcing. Student deals and gluten free options are also available. This is not your standard fish and chip shop, however, with alternative options including fish stew, seafood and a wide range of fresh fish. The smoked haddock fish cakes are a cut above your standard bland fish-shop fish cakes. The eat in options are also fantastic, and I’ve been back several times for their superb tuna steak burger with wasabi mayo. Portions are large and can be enjoyed with a glass of wine. Overall highly recommended for a delicious traditional or alternative fish supper, only thing that needs a bit of improvement is their mushy peas!

Peering in past it's understated exterior it's hard to determine whether it's a regular fish 'n' chip shop or if you're dealing with a high end seafood restaurant. Thankfully it's somewhere in the middle. You'd be hard pushed to find better cod, chips and mushy peas but you pay 15-20% more than you would at a regular chippy. Yet again, you get the luxury of table service and ordering beer or wine to wash it down with. A modern take on a British Classic.

Sitar Tandoori Restaurant

43 High St, Cambridge CB1 9HX, UK – 01223 249955

I always have a good meal when I visit the Sitar. It my favourite place in Cherry Hinton. The service is always lovely when getting a takeaway or eating in. Food is high quaility and I've never been disappointed. Just yesterday I went to celebrate my 21st birthday and I was sent home with a bottle of wine and a smile. Amazing. I love it.

The food is fantastic, has been every time I've been there, and the staff are wonderful.

Kismet Tandoori

71 Catharine St, Cambridge CB1 3AW, UK – 01223 415525

The best Indian takeaway I've had in my time at Cambridge so far. This will definitely be my go-to place from now on.

Great Food and Good Value for Money..

Maharani Indian Takeaway

210 Cherry Hinton Rd, Cambridge CB1 7AW, UK – 01223 579279

My favourite classic English style Indian Takeaway! I have been getting a curry from this place on average once a month for the past five years. Before I go on you must understand that I love "proper or authentic Indian food". I have worked in India for several months and been to various parts of the country loving the food (it is one of the best cuisines of the world obviously). However, the English style Indian takeaway is not the same thing and it is a mistake to compare the two as they are totally different entities. Maharani offers huge portions of tasty, heavy and if you want spicy curries. Highlights for me are the Mazza chicken (with strong tandoori flavour) and they do the best palak (somtimes referred to as Sag) paneer. Honestly next time you fancy a takeaway curry or want to try something new, give this place a go! If you want authentic Indian food go to the "Rice Boat" or somewhere else but trust me you won't get a better "ruby murry" than a Makarani in Cambridge!

Good food, friendly service. We get meals from here regularly and have never had a bad experience. Always order from the pub next door and collect on our way home - works a treat. Love the chicken sagwalla. Worth noting the portions are quite large.

Best Reviewed Italian Pasta and Pizza Restaurants

Limoncello

212 Mill Rd, Cambridge CB1 3NF, UK – 01223 507036

Had limoncello’s delicious food for a pop up cafe surprise at Duxford. It was so refresh and delicious. Highly recommend if looking for a gathering of friends or colleagues for a quick bite to eat.

Very relaxed place with a nice garden seating in the back in summer. Open later than all the other cafes in the area, so you can go here if you want to read a book on a summer evening. Nice limoncello shots. Reasonably priced.

Tradizioni

18 Mill Rd, Cambridge CB1 3AH, UK – 07721 535168

So nice! Seems family run. Bring your own booze, cheap/no corkage. Pizza is square and less thin crust but not deep pan. I love this style - really excellent base and sauce, and creative toppings.

Amazing staff and great food. So accomadating.

196 cocktail bar

Nice vibe, nice cocktails. Cosy table in the corner. Buy the mint julep and the raspberry mojito and mix them together. You can thank me later.

Great cocktail bar with a huge selection of fantastic cocktails, as well as other drinks. Friendly staff and good atmosphere.

The Brook

25 Brookfields, Cambridge CB1 3NW, UK – 01223 410023

Karaoke night every Friday and a karaoke spectacular on the last Saturday of each month. Otherwise, live bands every Saturday. Pub quiz on Thursdays. Great beer garden and large bar with a good selection of wines, beers, cider, and real ale. Inventive cocktail menu and a wide selection of specialty burgers.

Super lovely place with friendly bar staff and a lovely atmosphere that feels safe and enjoyable to spend time. Nice little garden at the back which is great as well and good parking too.

Fulbourn Chinese Restaurants

Maido House Chinese Takeaway

217a Cherry Hinton Rd, Cambridge CB1 7DA, UK – 01223 413838

Good been curd selection, friendly and clean. Food was very good, main dishes cheap, yet the sundries expensive. Enjoyed it, will go back again. Fresh tasting dishes and the king prawn with bean shoots was sublime.

This is my local Chinese Takeaway which I rate very highly. Food is always excellent and of very good value. Staff are good.

Khang's Chinese & Fish Shop

140 Wulfstan Way, Cambridge CB1 8QJ, UK – 01223 248722

Great Cod and Chips, Yes quite greasy from coming fresh out of the fryer, very reasonable priced and efficient staff.

There fish and chips are pretty good and fairly well priced. Its good for size and the service is pretty good.

Liutaio Music Restaurant, Café & Shop

224 Mill Rd, Cambridge CB1 3NF, UK

Liutaio is one of my favourite restaurants in Cambridge. The owner and staff are lovely and I really enjoy the relaxed atmosphere there. If you are visiting in the evening at the weekend, the staff play live music too. In fact, they also sell musical instruments. The menu has a great selection of delicious dishes, including a large range of vegan and vegetarian meals which are excellent even if you are not vegan or vegetarian. If you like friendly, chilled out and unusual independent restaurants then I recommend giving this one a try!

Absolutely delicious food! Very friendly staff and the live music performance was outstanding. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Fulbourn Vegetarian or Vegan Restaurants

Indian Palace

15 High St, Cambridge CB1 9HX, UK – 01223 778080

Glad to have found this place. Great ambience and excellent spread of dishes, esp the south Indian ones. Thoroughly enjoyed the fish pollichutt and chilly chicken. But hope the filter coffee can be improved. Nevertheless great job guys!

Excellent food, very friendly service, great menu (I love their vegetarian dishes and ginger chicken). Spacious with good atmosphere. There is free parking, and it is a walking distance from anywhere in Cherry Hinton area.

Rock

200 Cherry Hinton Rd, Cambridge CB1 7AW, UK – 01223 505005

Busy pub, pretty good food. Came here as part of a large reservation. Even knowing in advance they were going to have a lot of guests, they still ran out of quite a few menu items. My food was fine and the beer was 'beery'. Some people had to wait quite a long time for their food, but we got there early.

A nice, clean, standard pub with decent food, TV for sports. Good for groups to slowly take over an area, table-by-table. Some seating out front to watch the Cambridge traffic to rumble by on a summer evening.

The Royal Standard Pub

292 Mill Rd, Cambridge CB1 3NL, UK – 01223 569065

Amazing range of drinks. For me its a Black Russian in here, for some unknown reason. They don't need to be told how to make it. Proper bar tenders. Decent beers and food by the platter load 😊

Food was excellent (especially recommend the Cajun beef and the pork!) And the drink selection was good. Burger was on the rare side of medium rare but that's nit picking. We were in a large group and had a cot but that was no problem and nobodies food came cold, they balanced serving times very well.

The Hat and Rabbit

4 Hinton Rd, Fulbourn, Cambridge CB21 5DZ, UK – 01223 880606

Improved since its change from the Baker's Arms. Simple with some interesting seasonal guest ales. Good food menu. Friendly service. Not out of this world but nothing wrong with it either.

Lots of beers and ales to choose from. Newly refurbished. I really like it.
